Goodbye, Nature's Classroom

This is a difficult post for me. I am so torn that this program that I have dedicated thousands of hours to and have considered a part of my role as a CMS teacher is coming to a close. The intensity of my emotions will be difficult to control. I am not even sure how to start my year without kicking off this program.

In any event, as I told the kids on the bus, I can't think of a better group to spend our last Nature's Classroom with. They were the best overall. Thank you for representing Cudahy in a positive way. The Nature's Classroom staff expressed to me that they had a lot of fun with our students. Good job Bulldogs!

Mrs. Cesarz...Thank you for all you did for Nature's Classroom. My daughter had a great time! Seeing the picture of Amanda with a chicken on her head was a riot! I really enjoyed your blog...it was fun seeing what the kids did every day! One complaint though...my daughter is now obsessed with sun butter....and it's EXPENSIVE..LOL! Seriously...thank you for all you did!!

Thanks for making this a lifelong memory for so many kids. It is truly a once in a lifetime chance to grow as a CMS Bulldog. Welcome back everyone.

Thank you for all of your time and energy towards this. I know Britney had a great time and has taken away some wonderful experiences from this.

Mmm, Mmm Good!

Lunch, 4/11 - Pizza, salad, sun butter.

Breakfast, 4/11 - Eggs, hash browns, juice, sun butter, bagels, boiled eggs.

Dinner, 4/10 - Roast chicken and rice, cooked carrots, salad bar and, of course, the now famous and ever so popular sun butter and jelly.

Lunch, 4/10 - Macaroni and cheese, pickles, salad bar, sun butter & jelly.

Breakfast, 4/10 - French toast/maple syrup, cereal, hard boiled eggs, bagels, sun butter, juice, & water.

Dinner, 4/9 - Cheese Ravioli with breadsticks (okay, they were a little hard), salad, sun butter/jelly, and lots of dinner time fun.

Lunch, 4/9 - Mini subs (build your own) with chips and all the fixins. Don't forget the salad bar!

Breakfast, 4/9 - Eggs, hashbrowns, and the usual breakfast alternatives. All you can eat!

Dinner, 4/8 - Sloppy Joes - PERFECT. Kids came back with bog mud on their clothes and war paint on their face. So this meal was fitting. Sloppy Joes, fries, salad bar, sun butter, and great company.

Lunch, 4/8 - An interesting experiment. Taco Tuesday? Not quite. We had all the taco fixins, including reried beans, but instead of beef, we had TVP (textured vegetable protein). What most kids found is it was quite tasty. There were, of course, the usual options of salads and a sun butter sandwich.

Breakfast 4/8 - Comfort food! Pancakes, syrup, bagels, cereal, juice, milk, and, of course, sun butter. Delicious!

Dinner, 4/7 - All you can eat beef roast, potatoes, and corn; along with the usual salad bar and soup. Special treat - one class made their own bread - enough for all 80 (including all teachers) to enjoy. Thanks, "Dough"

Lunch, 4/7 - All you can eat pasta, sauce, and garlic bread. Don't forget the salad bar, the "glob n go" counter, and soup of the day, vegetable rice.

Visiting Teachers

4/10 - Welcome Deputy Joynt! Thanks for jumping in and assuming this role.

4/9 - We had a trifecta today with Mrs. Cavender, Ms. Menis, an Ms. Clark (she just can't get enough of us). The bonus for the guys, though, is a new bunkmate - Mr Carolan. Thanks for joining us.

4/8 - Time to get the new guy involved. You're a natural in this environment, Mr. Kleinhans.

4/8 - It was fun having Ms. Clark on our night hike. Thanks for sharing your astronomy knowledge with us!

4/7 - Thanks Mr. Seaman for spending the night. You always brighten our day.
